Franklin Square Elementary Midddle School - Quarter One Update – 2015/2016
Welcome Back!
The Franklin Square Elementary Middle School was awarded the illustrious and distinctive honor of being a Maryland Green School once again!
We banned together as a community, we did amazing feats such as our rain garden being installed by our partners at Parks and People Foundation. We conducted instructor-led instruction on being green and what that means for our environment.
We were able to win a $500 grant from BGE on being energy conscious! We came in third place this year through our concerted effort to turn off lights, use power surge protectors, turning off un-needed lcd projectors, computers, laptops and the like in order to win this competition.
Our partners came for a day of cleaning and cleaned our grounds!
Our classes got outside for learning experiences, which is what our outside learning classrooms are about!
We had a wonderful first quarter! We’re looking forward to a wonderful second quarter!
